My state passed a law prohibiting texting and driving a couple of years ago. That’s not really a bad thing considering around here people have a hard time just being able to drive! However, as expected, the local police’s response, given the way the law reads, took it as an open ticket to pull anyone over whom they “thought” may be in violation. Yes, all that is required is that they suspect it—not actual observation! My partner was one of the first lucky winners! His prize? Not only a texting and driving ticket, but also speeding. Thanks to LAS and some basic maths I was able to not only prove that he wasn’t speeding, but also that he was not texting when he got in front of the judge! My, how foolish that trooper looked 😁
