Simply keeping track of lives ones when they travel while not letting them know they are being kept track of. The way society is today and having a daughter that travels all over by herself, often at night and long distance, it gives peace of mind knowing she has reached her destination safely, but also having the advantage of knowing that if something negative did happen that I could notify authorities that something may be wrong if I can't reach her by cell phone. There's a lot to be said for peace of mind.
